Autism Spectrum Disorders Seminar Series 2017-2018

Join Kern Autism Network-Autism Society Affiliate in our newest approach at providing up to date information to families, educators, therapist, SLP, MFT, LSW, doctors and community at large. These series of seminars will occur throughout the 2017-2018 school year with speakers in the field of autism expertise, with topics meant to address the entire autism spectrum as defined by the DSM-5. The 1st Series starts in the Fall 2017 with others to follow throughout the school year, see Calendar for future dates. This and future events replace the Annual Autism Awareness Conference!

Our 1st series topic: “The Benefits of Pro-biotics for Autism” presented by guest speaker Emily Luxford-RD Samsun Clinic-Santa Barbara

Time: 8:30-12 p.m. 

Date: Monday, October 23rd  

Location: Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church

 

-Our 2nd series topic: “Hidden Autism: Women & Girls on the Autism Spectrum” presented by guest speaker Carly Fulham-Autistic Adult

Time: 8:30-12 p.m. 

Date: Thursday, December 7th

Location: Adventist Health Medical Office Building

 

-Our 3rd series topic: “Adult Transitions-Puberty, Relationships, Bullying, College & More” presented by guest speaker Alex Plank-Autistic Adult, Creator of Wrong Planet & Consultant on FX’s “The Bridge”

Time: 8:30-12 p.m.  (speaker begins at 9 a.m.)

Date: Saturday, March 17, 2018

Location: Adventist Health Medical Office Building

 

-Our 4th series topic: “Speech & Autism” presented by guest speaker Emily Rubin, MS, CCCSLP Director, Educational Outreach Program @ Marcus Autism Center

Time: 8:30-4 p.m. this is a full day seminar due to extensive material covered
