2017 Autism Awareness night at the races with Autism Society-Kern Autism Network to raise awareness and donate to Autism Society-Kern Autism Network by hosting a pre-race event allowing children to see, touch, sit in and even put their very own handprints on the cars that will be racing that night!

Adults on the Spectrum

Support Group Meeting.

A support group with a social meeting focus on helping those on the spectrum, 18 and older, to come together with others diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. An ability to share similar interests, interact and support one another with friendship. Occasional outings are planned out in the community on a monthly basis. See calendar for meeting dates which are once a month on a Saturday. This group is for males and females.

Autism Spectrum Disorders Seminar Series 2016-2017

Join Kern Autism Network-Autism Society Affiliate in our newest approach at providing up to date information to families, educators, therapist, SLP, MFT, LSW, doctors and community at large. These series of seminars will occur throughout the 2016-2017 school year with speakers in the field of autism expertise, with topics meant to address the entire autism spectrum as defined by the DSM-5. The 1st Series starts in the Fall 2016 with others to follow throughout the school year, see Calendar for future dates. This and future events replace the Annual Autism Awareness Conference!

Family Autism Support Group

This support group is intended for parents, friends, professionals or other caretakers. No students, please. The focus of this group is to offer support for those dealing with individuals who have a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum including High Functioning Autism or Asperger Syndrome. Fun Social LEGO® Workshops

Children’s workshop addressing fine motor and social skills.

Each of these workshops will be thematic in nature with loads of LEGO’S to interact with peers of all ages and community support. A family friendly event catered for the child/young adult with autism. Workshops operate during the school year and start back up in October 2016.  The last one for the school year is April 2017.

Sibling Support Group

A support group for the siblings who have an autistic brother or sister. This support group is to help the sibling better understand the challenges of growing up with a sibling that has autism and obtain friendships with others going through the same.
